Why employers train for this

US construction employers must train workers who may be exposed to respirable crystalline silica on its hazards, the tasks that expose them and the controls in place (29 CFR 1926.1153(i)(2)). This course covers that general knowledge for construction. Your written exposure control plan and the competent person you designate stay with the employer. General industry has a separate standard (29 CFR 1910.1053) that this course does not cover.

Where it is planned

United States. Construction only. Rules can differ by country, state and workplace, so check what applies to you.
