Why employers train for this

Employers must give staff fire safety information and instruction. UK: Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, article 21. Ireland: Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, section 10. US: OSHA requires extinguisher training where staff are expected to use extinguishers (29 CFR 1910.157(g)); evacuation awareness supports the general duty otherwise. This course does not replace fire drills or hands-on practice.

Where it is planned

Ireland, United Kingdom, United States. Rules can differ by country, state and workplace, so check what applies to you.
